Butt Tattoo

Wear the Debauche butt tattoo when you can. If you use Bakes On Mesh (BOM), ask R. for the classic tattoo layer version.

If you don’t use Bakes on Mesh, you will need the Omega System Relay for Maitreya: https://marketplace.secondlife.com/p/Omega-System-Kit-Maitreya/6709966

Maitreya Layers

If you use a Maitreya 5 body, they now offer the tattoo, underwear, and clothing layers as separate objects:

If you need layers for your template, put a full copy of the needed layers in the template folder and then do all your appliers.

And if you need layers for an outfit, put a full copy of the needed layers in the outfit folder before you apply the stockings, tights, or other clothing.

Layer Order

You might run out of applier layers, especially if you are trying to juggle that tattoo, other tattoos, freckles, public hair, sand or wet layers, and clothing layers.

Use your best judgment on which to wear and the order in which to wear them. (For example, if you’re wearing dark tights, you won’t need the Debauche tattoo because it can’t be seen.) Experiment before rehearsal, and ask for help if you need it.

Use your best judgment on the order in which to wear facial costumes, makeup, lipstick, lashes, etc. Experiment before rehearsal, and ask for help if you need it.

Be careful with socks and gloves… if you’re using a fresh copy of your head, hands, feet, and body you should be okay with appliers staying on. But be ready to toggle Gloves and Socks on the Maitreya HUD.

Dirty socks in Maitreya 5

Got layering issue with socks or stockings in Maitreya 5? (Especially with funsie socks)

Remove your tattoo layer. Should help.

Omega Relay System

For a few acts, you’ll need the Omega System Kit for Maitreya: https://marketplace.secondlife.com/p/Omega-System-Kit-Maitreya/6709966

If the routine calls for an Omega applier for your face (Calling All Monsters), Omega makes relays for many mesh heads:

  • MAITREYA OMEGA https://marketplace.secondlife.com/p/Omega-System-Kit-Maitreya/6709966
  • CATWA OMEGA https://marketplace.secondlife.com/p/Omega-System-Kit-Catwa/7785742
  • LELUTKA OMEGA https://marketplace.secondlife.com/p/Omega-System-Kit-Lelutka/10550651
  • GENUS OMEGA https://marketplace.secondlife.com/p/Omega-System-Kit-Genus/15061437

For other heads, look on Marketplace.

Scripted Hair or Other Items

Some acts call for putting hide and show scripts in hair.

For more information, read Outfit Scripts.

Minimize Scripts

It is important to minimize your scripts. Some venues have script-checkers, and they often don’t remember to whitelist us.

Wear the fewest number of HUDs that you can.

If you have set your appliers in advance, and you’ve relayed any Omega tattoos to your head and/or body already, you won’t need those applier HUDs for an routine.

If you have set colors for your clothing, you can remove scripts from it.

Because you’ve copied your hair to your routine folder, you can remove scripts from it, too.

Removing scripts from your body parts can be risky. Especially if you remove scripts from your Mesh head, because you’ll lose facial gestures.

Does it look right?

Go to the Routines link on this site and look up the routine.

Do you look like that? Good.

What is she wearing

The >What is she wearing HUD is great for seeing what others are wearing. That way, you can go shopping for that hair or jewelry too. (Or see what naughty things they have hidden in them, you pervert.)

Note that it does not show appliers and layers. Those, you’ll just have to wait for the notecard.

Alpha Masking

(Credit: Sev)

Sometimes, you will need to turn on Alpha Masking on an item. This allows the clothes to appear under another item that uses alphas.

To turn on Alpha Masking:

  1. In your inventory window, right-click the item and click Add.
  2. Right-click the item and click Edit.
  3. Click the Texture tab.
  4. Under the Alpha Mode dropdown menu, click Alpha Mask.

RLV

Some acts use RLV to add or remove clothing or flames or other things. The routine notecard will tell you which folders to create and what to name them.

For more information, read the Costume Assistant page.

Oh no! My nipples poke through!

This happens a lot when there’s a lot up top and a Maitreya Fit dress or top doesn’t adjust to your ample size.

There are several ways to deal with this:

  • Make a copy of your shape just for that outfit and then make your boobs smaller.
  • Edit the dress or top so that it is 0% transparent and then use the Maitreya HUD to alpha away anything that pokes through.
  • Wear long hair that covers whatever pokes through.
