RANT: Typing animations mess up dancing animations. Fix this or look like an idiot.

Disable Typing Animation

The typing animations look cool when you’re standing around chatting with friends, but they can disrupt the dance animations while you’re on stage. It’s a good idea to disable them while you’re in a show.

Click this, or perform the following steps:

  1. Open Preferences (Control-P).
  2. Click the Chat tab.
  3. Click the Typing top tab.
  4. Select the checkbox for Play typing animation when chatting.
  5. Click OK.

Make a Quick Preference

You can also create a Quick Preference for this…

  1. Click the wrench button in the lower-right corner of the menu. You’re now in edit mode.
  2. Click the plus button. A NewControl control will appear.
  3. Change the name of the control in the edit field to Typing Anim:.
  4. From the drop-down menu that says === Choose ===, select the desired debug setting to control. Let’s choose PlayTypingAnim.
  5. The appropriate Type setting should appear. In this case, either radio buttons and checkboxes work.
  6. To save your change, close the Quick Preferences tab, then reopen it.
