Movers
You need to get on your mover to dance. Instead of a mad rush to the movers, we sit in order:
- Remove or turn off AO.
- The first dancer will right-click and Sit on their mover.
- Wait patiently for the dialog box to accept permissions.
- If the permissions dialog doesn’t appear after a minute, stand up and sit on the mover again.
- If this keeps happening, go to your menu, click Avatar, then Avatar Health, and then Stop Avatar Animations & Revoke Permissions. Then sit again.
- If you have an issue and can’t sit, say in chat, Then the stage manager can move on to next mover.
- After you accept permissions, say your mover number in the conference.
- Repeat the process for the next dancer.
If a dancer is slow to respond, for whatever reason, the stage manager will move on to the next dancer bypassing the current dancer, for the moment.
Once all dancers are on, the stage manager will ask the dancer who missed her turn to sit.
If the first routine has been rezzed at the theatre, you may sit when you’re ready. Announce your mover number to let the stage manager see who is seated.
Hoverheight
Are you too high or low on the set? Fix your Hoverheight:
- Watch your feet in rehearsal.
- Open Quick Preferences.
- Adjust up and down as needed in Firestorm (usually by 0.1 increments).
- Write down that number in your show order list by the routine.
- During the show, make the adjustments for each routine according to your notes.
Remember to change it back after the routine.
Find your mover
If you cam around, you should be able to find your mover easily. They have numbers floating over them.
Some movers are up high or to the sides, or under parts of the set. Do not be afraid to ask for help.
The easiest way to find a mover is to use Firestorm’s Area Search function. Area Search is your friend.
I describe this feature on the dedicated Area Search page.
